Join me Monday, October 18th as I kick off the fall season of foraging! This is a gathering to celebrate fungal fall abundance here in the PNW. All are welcome. We will be visiting my all-time favorite area, starting at Yale Park on Yale Lake in Washington, then heading up passed Merrill lake to the western slope of Mt. Saint Helen's. This day will have us travelling through 4 distinct geographical zones and we will discuss the diverse changing of species is we process up in elevation. We will be foraging for a few types of edible mushrooms and medicinal fall plants. I will also be foraging for Amanitas and will be printing "in the field" overnight. I will be cooking findings over a fire and camping out for the night at Merrill Lake or above. You are welcome to stay for just the foray, for dinner, or for the camp out. The Orionid meteor shower will be just starting, so we may be in for a good show, rain permitting. Plan for rain and cold weather.
Registration for this event is free!
